History and Roll

• get a specified history stream
• determine if there are any previous/later states to roll to
• send information about the rollback system to the debug file
• delete all delta states
• delete all delta states after/before the current one
• delete all delta states not in the active path of the current history stream
• mark the start/end of a block of operations for rolling
• attach a name to the current state for rolling
• get a list of roll state names matching a wild-card string
• set a ceiling on the number of delta states to retain
• roll to a previous/later delta state

Journaling

• open an existing journal file for extension
• load a journal file one line at a time
• close the current journal file and turn off journaling
• close the current journal file and open a new one
• temporarily disable journaling, but leave the journal file open
• resume journaling after a pause
• save the current journal to a file

Parts

• get the part to which an entity belongs
• transfer an entity to a different part
• get/set the active part
• get the number of defined parts
• get the list of defined parts
• delete all entities from a part
• delete a part together with all the entities it contains
• report information about the entities in a part to the debug file
