Backgrounds

3DScheme can display backgrounds of types "plain" and "none". Other types of backgrounds can only be displayed when using 3DScheme Pro.

Environment Maps

To display environment maps, you must use 3DScheme Pro.

Foregrounds

To display foregrounds, you must use 3DScheme Pro.

Image Output

3DScheme supports the "flat" and "gouraud" render modes. To access the more sophisticated render modes (including ray-tracing modes) you must be using 3DScheme Pro.

Lights

3DScheme supports all aspects of lighting with the sole exception of shadowing. To display shadows you must be using 3DScheme Pro.

Materials

3DScheme supports materials whose color component has type "plain", whose reflectance component has type "phong", and whose displacement and transparency components have type "none". To display all other kinds of materials you must be using 3DScheme Pro.

Rendering Control

3DScheme supports the "flat" and "gouraud" render modes. To access the more sophisticated render modes (including ray-tracing modes) you must be using 3DScheme Pro.

Texture Spaces

Texture spaces affect the way wrapped materials are applied to geometric entities. Their effects are therefore only displayable when using 3DScheme Pro.
